Wir freuen uns, Sie zur Ausstellung Paint Things von Raphaël-Bachir Osman einzuladen, der 2023 im Rahmen des eines Atelierstipendiums von Atelier Mondial sechs Monate in New York City verbrachte.
In Paint Things präsentiert Raphaël-Bachir Osman eine neue Werkreihe, die aus bescheidenen, gefundenen Materialien entstanden ist – Stofffragmenten und kleinen, fast taschengrossen Holzformaten. Indem er die Unvorhersehbarkeit des Textils annimmt, bewegen sich seine Bilder zwischen Präzision und Diffusion, wobei das Material selbst das Bild bestimmt. Diese Werke, die Alltagsszenen, Momente im Atelier und kunsthistorische Referenzen miteinander verbinden, entfalten sich wie ein fragmentiertes visuelles Tagebuch. Zwischen Figuration und Abstraktion bewegend, fängt Raphaël-Bachir Osman flüchtige Eindrücke – Licht, Erinnerung und Atmosphäre – durch eine Praxis ein, die in Beobachtung und Transformation verwurzelt ist. Diese neue Serie lädt die Betrachter in eine intime Welt wandernder Bilder ein, in der das Alltägliche still poetisch wird.

We are excited to invite you to the exhbition Paint Things by Raphaël-Bachir Osman, who spent 6 months in New York City in 2023 thanks to a studio grant by Atelier Mondial.
In Paint Things, Raphaël-Bachir Osman presents a new body of work developed from modest, found materials — fragments of fabric and small, almost pocket-sized wooden formats. Embracing the unpredictability of textile, his paintings shift between precision and diffusion, allowing the material itself to guide the image. Blending everyday scenes, studio moments, and art historical references, these works unfold like a fragmented visual diary. Moving between figuration and abstraction, Raphaël-Bachir Osman captures fleeting impressions — light, memory, and atmosphere — through a practice rooted in observation and transformation. This new series invites viewers into an intimate world of wandering images, where the ordinary becomes quietly poetic. 

Opening: Friday, May 8th from 5pm to 9pm.
