Die von Li Jia kuratierte Ausstellung Constellations of Hope, Sharing Grounds versammelt vier Kollektive, die zwischen Asien und Europa tätig sind. Mit engagierter und aktivistischer Kunst setzen sie sich für soziale Gerechtigkeit ein, insbesondere in Bezug auf Migrant*innen, Diaspora-Bevölkerungen und sexuelle Minderheiten. Auf diese Weise stärken sie Solidarität, Selbstbestimmung und Fürsorge. Anstatt einzelne Werke in den Mittelpunkt zu stellen, rückt die Ausstellung die Kollektivität als künstlerische Methode in den Vordergrund – sie unterstützt aktivistische Praktiken, fördert transnationale Verbindungen und inspiriert zu imaginativen Zukünften. Sie ist ein Zusammenkommen über Distanzen hinweg: eine Reise jenseits von Grenzen, eine Begegnung zwischen Kontinenten und Menschen.
Diese Ausstellung ist das abschliessende Ergebnis von Li Jias Aufenthalt in Basel.

Constellationsof Hope, Sharing Grounds brings together four artist/activist collectives active between Asia and Europe. Through socially engaged and activist art, they address social justice, particularly those concerning migrants, diasporic populations and sexual minorities, while cultivating solidarity, autonomy, and care. Rather than focusing on individual works, the exhibition foregrounds collectivity itself as an artistic infrastructure, supporting activist practices, fostering transnational connections, and inspiring imaginative futures. It is a gathering across distance: a journey beyond borders, an encounter across continents, and a weaving of connection and friendship.
This exhibition is the final outcome of Li Jia’s residency in Basel.
