remarks:   Initiated by EPFL College of Humanities (CDH) Direction in partnership with The City of Lausanne, the EPFL-CDH Artist-in-Residence (AiR) Program “Enter the Hyper-Scientific” reflects the CDH mission of fostering transdisciplinary encounters and collaborations between artists and EPFL’s scientific community. The program invites professional Swiss and international creative practitioners, both emerging and established, for three-month residencies to realize innovative and visionary projects at the intersection of art, science, and advanced technologies.

geographical location, how to get there:   few minutes from train-station Davos PLATZ (direction North, pass on the main street below the church; at the Mattastrasse (crossroad), walk 50m down, the house is on the left; it has a blue-yellow flag and it’s colour is green. Easy to find.

exists since:   the house was built around 1870, the residency is new (2025); later on, it will be on the upper floors and have six rooms (for two artists)

 The head of the Association is a Sudan-born Professor of Engineering in Winona, USA, Prof. Beckry Abdel Magid; his deputy is Mr. Christian Grünig, living in Davos  (he is renting the studio during the winter).

rooms, description: 8 rooms with 2 to 6 beds. 27 beds in total. For artists we can guarantee a private room in the low season (November, March, April). If a weekend would be fully booked, the artist would need to sleep in the attic with the workawayers (shared dorm, very comfy).

remarks: It is a home and working place for different artists, two artists are living here continuously with their children. We can offer a photo-, film-, recording studio to use.

 the stay and three meals day are covered as well as three coaching sessions 
 with the artists living there.
