Bewegen wir uns auf das Ende der Welt zu?
Unter diesem Motto versammelt die Ausstellung künstlerische Positionen, die die aktuelle Situation der Welt kritisch erforschen und alternative Zukunftsvisionen entwerfen. Die Künstler*innen beleuchten die gegenwärtige und zukünftige Rolle des Menschen in einer Welt des eskalierenden Klimawandels und spekulieren über Perspektiven zwischen apokalyptischer und nachhaltiger Zukunft.

Pastoral Complex est un projet architectural développé par le duo d’artistes Valle Medina et Benjamin Reynolds (Pa.LaC.E) au terme de leur résidence à La Becque. L’installation recrée la sensation d’une marche en haute altitude en réduisant la teneur en oxygène d’un espace défini. Il s’agit d’une exploration de la climatologie médicale – du fait se rendre dans des endroits pour se sentir mieux – en accordant une attention particulière à la curieuse réversibilité typologique de l’hôtel et de l’hôpital.
Inaugurated on a beautiful stormy evening in early June, the Pastoral Complex will again be open for visits from June 19 to 26 from 1pm to 7pm. Please let us know by e-mail if you plan to come! Pastoral Complex is an architectural project developed by artists Valle Medina and Benjamin Reynolds of Pa.LaC.E at the outcome of their residency at La Becque. The installation recreates a high-altitude walk by reducing the oxygen content of a space. It is an exploration on medical climatology—going to places to feel better—paying particular attention to the curious typological reversibility of the hotel>/<hospital.
