International creatives-in-residency program Gate 27 invites you to apply for its 2026 program until October 31.
You may apply for a 4–12 week residency at Gate 27 Istanbul, or for a 4-week residency at our Ayvalık premises, focusing on the intersections of arts, science, and industry. Application is free of charge.
Gate 27 is developing its residency program in alignment with Sustainable Development Goals #11, #12, #13, and #16. The 2026 program aims to address themes such as community-led recovery, cultural and ecological resilience, climate justice, waste policies, digital sovereignty, and new technologies. Thus, it aims to support projects that bridge artistic practice and policy research.

BEYOND 27 Applications Now Open
A new residency program at the intersection of art and research
Gate 27 initiates an interdisciplinary residency program, BEYOND 27 , fostering dialogue between artists and researchers.
As part of the BEYOND 27 program, one selected artist will reside at our Istanbul premises for six weeks, working alongside Wendy Brown , UPS Foundation Professor in the School of Social Science at the Institute for Advanced Study. During the residency, participants will have the opportunity to develop new works that engage with urgent contemporary issues through research-driven practice. Artists with the following qualifications are invited to apply:
- Open to collaborating with the researcher,
- Show an interest in topics such as democracy, political economy, and political ecology,
- Maintain a production practice open to interdisciplinary dialogue.
